The Last Reality

A multiversal army unfolding life back into Nothing.

FIRST APPEARANCE: Chapter 1 Season 5
LAST APPEARANCE:
Chapter 4 Season 3

The Last Reality is a gathering of devastation led by a chosen monarch. Puppeteered by whispers of The Nothing, a primordial force beyond and opposite the Zero Point, the Last Reality wishes to crush every star in its wake until they are the very last; by the power of technology and magic.

Before the light of life, there was Nothing. As the Zero Point was shaped from the forces of creation, so was the endless void.

The result was a powerful hivemind of wishes to become more; one that consumes vulnerable minds by using the very voices of those once captured by its thrall. Yet formless, The Nothing needed a vessel: an army capable of carrying out its endless task.

To do so, the Last Reality has engineered endless fields of technology so advanced that it almost seems like magic: because it is. Runes upon metal and stone that create life out of nothing, made just for conquering.

THEIR TECHNOLOGY

  • Cubes are tesseracts of destruction that inscribe runes upon a reality to drain power for its purpose: to create a portal for more to come. When attacked, they strike lightning of equal power; and, when approached, they may give you power — at the cost of your soul.
  • The Sideways are a desolate universe, anchored to a reality by bubbles from which brutes of stone arise — led by towering Caretakers and secret Cube Assassins.
  • The Motherships carry thousands of Cubes and Abductors, as well as civilizations of troops for invasion.
  • The Convergence is a beacon of Cubes that calls upon their ultimate headquarters: The Cube's Cradle, a planet-sized ship carrying countless Motherships.

THEIR RANKS

  • The Cube Queen is the latest regime in a lineage of intelligent minds who've willingly succumbed to the Nothing; only to lose their own worlds and become puppets, instead. She is the supreme authority of the Last Reality.
  • The Kymera is the bulk of the faction's forces. Combining the DNA of civilizations they have left extinct, the Last Reality desecrates their memory by conducting experiments to compose their troops.
  • The Trespassers are mechanical counterparts to the Kymera, ranging from Standard to Elite, usually wielding Ray Guns.
  • Cube Fiends are monsters of endless corruption spawned by Cubes to aid in their conquest.

From the wreckage of realities, the Last Reality spares those who are strongest, most recently from the Pluxarian system.

Smaller than a galaxy, the Pluxarian quasar had purple vegetation and hatchlings true to their alien nature, conserved by the Last Reality and used to terraform worlds.

Other Pluxarians include Joey, a double-agent that topples authorities to leave realities vulnerable, as well as the battledroid Zyg, piloted by the odd Choppy.

However, some survivors carry the guilt of their homes by heart. Once, the Last Reality was governed by The Cube King, a victim of his own folly.

Yet, after witnessing the end of countless worlds by his hand, he chose to fight against his army, leaving his crown behind to become The Origin: field tactician of the Seven, a band of heroes that fight multiversal threats much like the Last Reality — the biggest threat of them all.

His powers remain as an eternal Cube flame, as well as his markings and ocean blue eyes: forever a reminder of his long-lost home.

While the Last Reality mostly harnesses the power of shapes and ships, it sometimes employs a greater power: one without form and that must be wielded by a special Herald.

Chrome is a bioweapon of endless cytokinesis, the duplication of cells, that consumes anything in its path. A true representation of the Nothing's hunger, it devours every world in its wake, an inevitable end.

The latest Herald, also a Pluxarian, was defeated only with the power of the Zero Point as — while connected to the Nothing — the formless powers of a Chrome Herald are boundless.
